Find a wedding stencil. Purchase stenciling paint and brushes as well.

Download a free image editing program like GIMP to design your printed information in a simple way.

Find a font. You can find a variety of free fonts online at websites like Theme World. Whether you are looking for classic, ancient, modern or even spooky, you should find what you are looking for at no cost.

Download the font and install it to your computer’s “Fonts” folder. In Windows, click “Start” and “Run.” Type in the command “%windir%\fonts” and click “OK.” Go to the file menu and click “Install New Font.” Browse to the folder with your downloaded font. Click the font you want to add. Select “Copy Fonts to Fonts Folder.” Click “OK.”

Design all your text and print a test card. Decide on open-close invitations or single card invitations as well as the size. If you are using open-close, you will want to have your information on the inside. To do this, make an image with your text editor the same size as your card stock. Create a border with a grid or invisible layer to represent the parts of the card stock you will be cutting off, if any. Leave the right half of the image completely blank. This will ensure that the text prints on the left-hand side of the sheet. Be sure you make margins and remember not to add anything to the borders, as they will be removed.

Use your test card to practice your stencil design. For open-close cards, fold your card carefully in half, making sure the crease is straight up and down, and put your stencil on the front. For single sheet cards, place it wherever you like near the text.

Place the stencil on the paper. More complicated designs will need to be taped down to prevent shifting. Hold the stencil brush at a straight up and down angle and dab the paper, do not stroke.

Lift the stencil directly up. Do not slide it or allow it to spread any paint as you lift. Continue with the remaining cards, being mindful to wipe the stencil if any excess paint begins to accumulate. This will prevent any unwanted blotches.

Cut your cards. Use a pencil to very lightly mark the points of each line to be cut. Do not attempt to cut these cards without a paper cutter or they will come out crooked.

Buy envelopes. Now that you know how large your invitations are, shop around for the best price on some nice envelopes to send them to your guests in.

Whether you are the one getting married, are part of the entourage, or simply helping the couple in sending out wedding invitations, you need a few simple tips on the do’s and don’ts of these little cards and envelopes. Since the era of the town crier has long elapsed, then you must learn enough about the trade of modern wedding invitations.

1. Have the final list of guests. Especially for those who are operating on a tight budget, the number of wedding invitations purchased should be equivalent to your number of visitors. At least an estimate will do so in case there will be a few glitches or errors, you are still within the safe range.

Wedding Instructions for Make-up + Contact Lenses

This article discusses the common problem contact lens wearers face when managing their lenses while applying make up. Eye infections and damaged lenses are frequent incidents that could happen on any day, and your wedding day is no exception. Since it is in our interest to keep your wedding day perfect, here are a couple of eye care tips to add to your list.

Assuming you wear contact lenses on a daily basis and will do so on your wedding day, there are some special rules you will have to follow. Just in case the stress and million other things you have to think about clouds your memory, here is a quick reminder.

Do not sleep with your contacts. Unless you are wearing daily disposables, contact lenses need to re-moisturize in special lens solution every day. If you forget to place them in the solution, the contacts will dry up overnight, which means that they could stick to the cornea, and inevitably cause damage to eye.

Do not let anyone else wear your contacts. This may seem a bit unnecessary to stress, but it is actually the most common cause for eye infections.

When removing the contact lenses at night, remember to keep them in the special contact lens container, submerged in the solution. Never use water or any other alternative liquid.
If you have never worn contacts, you should schedule an appointment with an eye doctor, who will give you a prescription. The optician will instruct you thoroughly on how to insert, remove and take care of them. Schedule these appointments well in advance to make sure you will be able to handle them in the right way before the big day. It can take one or two months for your eyes to get used to contacts.

Applying make-up can easily become a cause for eye discomfort. Make sure to insert your contact lenses before applying make up. If someone else is fixing you up, ask them to be careful when applying eye liner and eye shadow. Contact lenses are extremely sensitive and may not only be damaged if cosmetic chemicals enter the eye, they may also cause damage to the eye itself.

Try to avoid any contact between the lens and the make up: close your eyes when applying blusher or other powder products. If the make up sticks to the lenses, they could be damage or causing irritation. The same rule applies when using hair spray or fragrances. It would not be nice to go to the altar with red eyes.
